Voxland

The story

A world in pieces, waiting for heroes

Voxland was built block by block by giants long gone. Then it broke. This is the tale of how the isles came to float, and why they need you.

IThe Age of the Cyclopes

Built by giants

Long ago, the Cyclopes, greatest builders the world has known, shaped Voxland one block at a time. They raised mountains and carved rivers, planted forests and set temples on the hills.

To hold it all together, they bound the land with Aether shards, crystals that glow with the breath of the heavens. At the center of everything sat the greatest stone of all: the Omphalos, the navel of the world.

IIThe Fall of the Omphalos

The day the world broke

No one knows what cracked the Omphalos. Only that when it did, the world split apart.

Whole kingdoms tore free and drifted into the sky, held aloft by the Aether shards still buried in their roots. Below them churned the endless clouds of Chaos. And the Cyclopes were gone, as if they had never been.

IIIThe Age of Monsters

What crawled from the cracks

Golden ichor, the blood of the broken world, seeped from the cracks, and strange things gathered to it. Ichorlings bubbled up in the meadows. Harpies nested in the woods.

Deep in the Labyrinth the Cyclopes left behind, their Talos guardians stirred awake. They still guard their halls. They no longer remember who for.

IVThe Lights of Ithaca

A flame that never goes out

On the largest isle still holding together, survivors built a city around Hestia's flame, a fire that has never once gone out. They named it Ithaca, after the home every wanderer longs to return to.

It's the last great city above the clouds, and its gates are open to anyone brave enough to venture out: to hunt, to explore, to rebuild.

VYour Odyssey

Your story starts here

You arrive in Ithaca with a wooden sword, a borrowed map and more courage than sense. What happens next is up to you.

Stand with the Myrmidons, study with the Circle of Hecate, ride with the Hunt of Artemis or heal with the Asclepiads. Brave the Labyrinth. Stake a claim in the Hesperides. And maybe, one day, find out where the Cyclopes went.

Know the world

Words you'll hear in Ithaca

Every tavern in the agora has its tales. These are the ones you'll hear most.

Aether shards

Glowing crystals that keep the isles afloat. The Circle of Hecate draws its magic from them, carefully.

The Cyclopes

The one-eyed giants who built Voxland. Their ruins are everywhere. Their fate is a mystery.

Hestia's Flame

The undying fire at the heart of Ithaca's agora. As long as it burns, the city stands.

Talos guardians

Bronze-hearted constructs left to guard the Labyrinth. They still do, a little too well.

Horos stones

Ancient boundary stones that hold land firm enough to build on. Beyond their reach, blocks crumble.

Chaos

The endless clouds below the isles. Nobody who fell in has come back to describe it.

“The world was built block by block. It can be rebuilt the same way.”
