Taming a Petalpuff
How taming worksUse it on a Petalpuff within 5 blocks. Nothing else comes for it. The weaker the Petalpuff is, the likelier it comes: 20% at full health, up to 40% all but beaten. Win or lose, the lure is spent. If it comes, it curls up into a Petalpuff Egg in your bag, so make room first, and the egg lets your pet out.
