Arena and War of Emperium

Hero against hero

At the Stadium of Olympia, anyone outside your party is fair game. Twice a week, in the War of Emperium, guilds besiege Mycenae and Tiryns for the Emperium at their hearts, and the tribute that comes with them. Falling costs no EXP in either.

The arena

The Stadium of Olympia

No gate leads here: Polydeuces in Sparta lets you in. Inside the stadium, anyone outside your party is fair game, at any hour.

Polydeuces sends nobody greener into the stadium.

All but your party

Fight beside your party, against everyone else. A hero hidden in the shadows can't be struck.

No EXP lost

Falling here costs nothing but pride, though the whole stadium hears who brought down whom.

The way out

A tunnel at the stadium's foot leads back to Sparta.

The War of Emperium

Twice a week, for an hour

On Wednesdays and Saturdays, 13:00–14:00 UTC, guilds besiege Mycenae and Tiryns. Break the Emperium at a castle's heart and your guild holds it; hold it when the hour is up, and it stays yours until the next siege.

Any guild

While a siege is on, Perseus in Corinth lets in any hero in a guild. Without one, you'll have to watch.

Other guilds are fair game

Inside a castle, heroes of every other guild are fair game. Your own guild's aren't.

No EXP lost

Falling in a castle costs no EXP, so get back up and go again.

Castles and tribute

Two citadels, and what they pay

Outside sieges, only the guild that holds a castle may enter it, and their leader takes its tribute from Perseus in Corinth once a day: zeny, and the ore refiners ask for the finest steps. A new day's tribute is ready at midnight UTC.

The Emperium

The crystal at the castle's heart

Every castle keeps an Emperium in its temple court. Whoever breaks it wins the castle for their guild.

Taking a castle

How a castle changes hands

From the first call to arms to the tribute in your leader's bag.

  1. 1

    The siege begins

On Wednesdays and Saturdays, 13:00–14:00 UTC, the whole world hears that the War of Emperium has begun, and Perseus in Corinth opens the way to Mycenae and Tiryns for every guild.

  2. 2

    Fight your way in

Inside, heroes of other guilds are fair game. Falling costs no EXP, so the fight is on until the hour is up.

  3. 3

    Break the Emperium

Strike it by hand: skills don't touch it, and it turns aside 40% of every blow. The guild that holds the castle can't strike its own.

  4. 4

    The castle is yours

Whoever breaks it wins the castle for their guild, and the world is told. Everyone else is put out to Corinth, and a fresh Emperium rises for you to defend.

  5. 5

    Hold it to the end

It can change hands again and again. When the hour is up, whoever holds each castle keeps it, and everyone else is sent back to Corinth.

  6. 6

    Take the tribute

Until the next siege, only your guild may enter. Your leader takes the castle's tribute from Perseus in Corinth once a day.

A guild that disbands loses its castles. They stand empty, for whoever breaks the Emperium at the next siege.

Skills against heroes

One foe at a time

In the arena and in a siege, 49 skills land on heroes as they do on monsters: strikes, bolts and hexes aimed at one foe. Attacks that sweep an area leave heroes be. Against a hero, every weapon strikes as it would a medium-sized monster.

Who to see

The keepers of the contest

No gate leads to the arena or the castles. These two take you there.

Master of the Agon, in Sparta

“My brother ferries travellers. I put them in the ring. At Olympia, anyone not in your party is fair game, and nobody loses anything but pride for falling.”

Sends heroes of base Lv. 20 and up to the Stadium of Olympia, at any hour.

  • Perseus

    Castles

Keeper of the Citadels, in Corinth

“I founded Mycenae. Now guilds fight over it twice a week, and Tiryns besides. Break the Emperium at a citadel's heart and it's your guild's, tribute and all.”

Opens the way to Citadel of Mycenae and Citadel of Tiryns: to any hero in a guild during a siege, and to the guild that holds a castle at any time. Its leader takes the tribute here.

Raise your guild's banner
